The simple fact that "is half-life 2 in VR better than Alyx" a worthy discussion is a testament of why HL2 is frequently mentioned as one the best games ever made. I find it hard to rank the top tier VR games just s few days after finishing them. There are a few haves that while I'm playing them they clearly feel like the best thing ever.
Half-Life 2: Update adds new particle effects, improved fog, and gives the game a complete lighting overhaul. This results in a more detailed and realistic world to explore.

Half life 2 is very good and fun but I will always prefer half life 1. Same. I like half life 1 better. But, Half Life 2 has better graphics. There both good games, but I prefer Half Life 1. HL1. Half-Life 2 is a masterpiece and is a game I think everyone should play. While the graphics are a bit dated, considering the game was made in 2004, it was way ahead of its time. I also recommend the episodes (HL2: Episode One and Episode Two). They're essentially Half-Life 3, though they do leave off on a very annoying cliffhanger.
Something i realized is that, Half Life 2 is a good game, but a bad sequel. Like why the fuck does it even have to be Gordon Freeman and Black Mesa? Seems like another mute avatar could have worked well. And GMan, I don't see the point of him hiring Gordon. Yeah the Cascade was his doing, but I don't see why Gordon has to be hired in the first
Half Life 2: Deathmatch is a fantastic Game. The Gameplay is really good, the Graphics is good (Yet Simple), The Maps are great. The only thing about Half Life 2: Deathmatch that disappointed me was the fact few play it. And it's hard to find a Server with Players. But when you do find a Server with Players, you'll love it. Half-Life 2 revolutionized the FPS genre once again and was considered the best game of the decade, winning the masterpiece Red Dead Redemption, the gameplay is very good , It has achieved better Half-Life 2 will likely load slightly faster, but since levels will be contained in one big compressed file, this probably won't help HL2 performance much.
