-Never had any big reversing problems, maybe one in a 50 that it didnt go into reverse when i tried.-It goes into all other 5 gears no problem, with the car running or not,-Wont go into reverse even if car not on. It not like it goes into reverse but doesnt move, the shifter doesnt even want to sit into the spot, like it is blocked or something.

Im on my 2nd punto Previously 2007 Grande and now a 2012 punto both 1.2 8v variant and both used a lot of oil seems to be a common scenario with the fiat engine I cant remember what is quoted in the manual but something like 100ml every 1000 miles mine uses more i do around 8000 miles a year and use around a 1ltr of oil between services topping up.:bang:

On closer inspection I saw the hub was proud slightly by about 5mm , and from experience I know it should be well seated and thus make an oil tight seal. O1sq508.
